The CBR600RR is a lovely bike, my daughter has a 2007, but it doesn't have the "soul" or "character" of the Storm.
I think you need to get the IL4 thing out of your system before you appreciate the V2. It depends whether you want the revs up high or ride the torque.
Good luck with your decision.

anything less than a near ltr bike and it would make you less of a man.

I like the way you said anything less than near, rather than anything less than a ltr, just covering your bases there

But I agree, why would you want a bike where your new mates are spotty teenagers or elderly people who just passed there DAS.

Wait till you've had a long day riding, you are tired, there's a lot of traffic - with the Storm you can stay in a high gear, roll on/roll off, no need to brake usually with the engine braking, laughing at the 600 riders dancing on the gearchange and brakes.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Ive just moved up from a cbr600 sport predecessor to the rr and the vtr is nicer to ride like been stated the 600 was like doing a jolly jig on the gear change and all the power is up top and bot usable around town
Great bikes but I wont be owning an il4 again v2 anyway
