to dyno or not to dyno
i honestly am not sure if to dyno my bike, im worried that ill dyno it and the power output will be dissapointing, im running art cans, a k&n filter, and been jetted to suit, its hard to tell if your own bike is fast or not i guess, because you get used to it!

Least they still have the jump over cars, lad a work just got a Nissan 350Z and assumed his 3ltr lump would monster my bike up the straight at work, bye bye Nissan hahaha
The storms not a power monster and never will be, unless you throw lotto money into it, don't be disappointed with its output, expect any where around 100 - 110 bhp on the print out, I would still sooner ride an old storm than some of the newer bikes out there, there uncomfortable and look crap and get smaller and smaller as each new model is updated.
I Felt like a Giant at the NEC climing on the new models and the finish on that new ZX10R is terrible what a load of cheap placky crap
For a good while I viewed the storm as a Woman's bike and assumed others that haddent had or used a storm thought of them as a soft newbie woman's bike but have since managed to get that out of my hair now, wombles em I enjoy it and i know what it and i can do, brilliant showing up the power rangers in summer, tho i suspect i may look like one now with the Repsol Jobbie
Along treck down a motorway can do my tits in with the vibes and constant rpm engine / exhaust noise with the race cans sat at 70 / 80 mph tho, where as the blade is silky smooth, but het ho the storms the one i would take over the blade on a B raod blast

to be honest, ive never been overtaken on the storm, ive ridden all the latest bikes, rode the 2011 zx10r when it first came out, didnt like it at all. ive never found a bike that does everything as well as the storm yet, and i love it on longer journeys. but im really worried im going to dyno it and see 80 or 90 on the dyno, i just wouldnt be happy with it. il have to see if anyone else will allow me a quick spin on theirs.

Many moons ago when I first got the storm, got the micron pipes, K&N and dynojet kit. Took it along for setting up at Redline Honda (sadly now closed) by a chap called Roger and with fettling and 8 dyno runs later it was performing like a good un with a dyno printout showing the rewards. Reading the US Superhawk forum where the prevailing view is very anti K&N due to it not being a plug&play enhancement and difficult to setup and if not properly sorted can lead to a significant performance drop from standard.
Getting it on a dyno will objectively show you the reality of the 'fitness' of your bike, and the merits of your installed performance mods, and provide pointers for the tuners of where to begin rectifying it to give you improvements. It'll cost though - it was a couple of hundred over a decade ago.

I think this is the same guy, he done a bit of work for me in the past, the last bike was an XV750 which I had a nice set of *ahem* tone pleasing pipes, he ended up completely cleaning out the carbs as well and didnt really charge for it.

Rejeted & Tuned
ran on dyno a couple of times and then charged me £120, it ran spot on.
And then swore he would NEVER Tune a Virago again

Always wanted to ride a sportster! Not own one tho, i dont get the harley thing lol. Jus called up the place i normally go to, dyno run 20 quid so thats a good starting point

After owning a Harley I could never own any other brand of cruiser again.
The break downs people talk about on Harleys are usually really stupid things that are easy to fix, the Evos are absoloutely brilliant to work on, they are so easy.
To be honest ALL the jap bikes I owned, none of them really had any character, or grabbed me for very long, as great and reliable as they are they just dont do it for me, the Firestorm is different from the other Jap bikes I owned its nice and does have some character, maybe its just a V Twin thing for me.
