Been riding for 17 years now..... only had a few bikes in all that time!

Started in '95 with a brand new teal bandit 600

then in '97 a brand new GSXR600 complete with new leathers and boots, salesman prob got a good bonus that day lol
This was written off in '98 and I vowed never to get on a bike again.......
Image

Then in '99 the first VTR arrived! bought on a whim as I'd wanted a 1200 bandit....
Image

This joined in it 2002..... and shortly after the VTR was sold on.
Image

The novelty soon wore off and in 2004 the current VTR replaced it but I wanted to retain the CCM's riding position.
Image

Also got this little chap too now which is just as much fun as the big bike :D

First of all... Welcome back to me... !
Bikes owned....
first off: Gilera 50 trials hand painted in silver.
Yamaha fsie... Tuned lol
Suzuki ap50... With a100 engine dropped bars and no baffles .
Suzuki GP100 with 125 engine
Honda C50 (don't laugh it gets worse)... With top box and screen
Kawasaki Z400 4.
James comet (1949)... Brought as project 10 years ago still in shed.
Velosolex French autocycle.... Drunken ebay moment
Morini 500 sport.... V twin loved it but got fed up of pushing it!
Jawa 350 (1976) brought as a winter hack.... OK you can laugh now... if I got fed up pushing the Morini, well it set me in good stead.... Worlds crappest bikes... Maybe, but I still kind of like its tractor like charm
And for the past 2 ish years a firestorm, 2000 model, bought in Teal, changed to yellow (I reckon that mod gained me at least 5 bhp)

For me I had
Yamaha t80 passed my bike test on that .
Yamaha rd125lc blow that up :)
Suzuki rg125 scraped that
Yamaha xs250 cafe racer scraped that
Suzuki gr250 gamma wrote that off in a big way into the side of a car that pulled out on me :)
Long brake
Cbr600fl
Cbr400rr tri arm
Then built a cbr4/6
Gsxr750 slab side , never rode it
Xr650r super moto still got in storage
Swaped the cbr4/6 for a 95 blade then
Swaped that for the storm

Learned to ride on the local playing fields on a BSA C11 (old pre unit 250) aged 11, messed around on various "field" bikes Puch maxi, AJS 500 and some stuff i cant remember
on the road 1973

Gareli tiger cross
BSA Bantam 125 rigid frame ex post office, or was it a 150
Honda cb 175
Velocette 350 viper/ venum, bought it for a fiver, sold it for 35 quid, now worth 3 maybe 4 grand
1968 T120 Bonnie, spent more time pushing it than riding it
Yamaha 180 two stroke twin, fast little bugger
BSA A10 with side car, very very scary
BSA A10 with out chair, same bike with twisted frame due to chair, great on right handers, not good on left !!
Suzuki GT 500 low reving two stroke twin, brilliant
Suzuki GT 550, new loved it
Honda cb 750 sohc, heavy low down lump, or so it seemed at the time
Suzuki GT 750 Kettle hated it , cow on roller skates
Kawasaki z 650 looked good spoked wheels, didnt get on with it
Honda cbx 750 dohc , bland, unreliable
Yamaha 650 twin fantastic engine, rot box
Yamaha xs 1100 big brutal heavy, for some reason i liked it, and with practice it would actually go round corners
Suzuki 1200 bandit 1997, brilliant, scared my self, never let me down, loads of fun
Storm, and its a keeper.

There are others but cant remember all of them off the top of my head, spent a few years doing Trials
Beta
Gas Gas
TY

Right....
Honda SS50-First bike i ever owned, this never got on the road, was rebuilt from scratch and still resides in my garage nearly complete
Italjet Torpedo 50-First bike i had on the road, this was an ugly bugger, but was rather quick for a 50 and great fun to ride! also had my first crashes on this bike :)
Honda XR125L-The only bike i have ever brought new, got it brand spankin new in 2006, abused it, crashed it wheelied it until almost dead, then it got stolen.
Honda XLR125-Got this to replace my other 125, was worse, slower, and just poop really.
Kawasaki GPZ500-First big bike, was restricted to 33bhp, but still awesomely fast to me at the time, crashed into the back of my mates car while drag racing him in a car park, this crushed my balls, and was also witnessed by the old bill, who found it rather amusing! Kept it for two years, did over 35000 miles on this bike myself, never went wrong once :)
Honda CBR600F-first full power bike i rode, blew me away, had been tuned a bit i believe and was very very scary! many untintentional wheelies due to having a FAT girlfriend at the time
Suzuki DRZ400E (supermoto)-Hands down best bike ive ever owned. had been heavily tuned, well set up, and got me into a lot of trouble. Ive never regretted selling a bike so much :(
Honda VT500E-Best condition one of these i have ever seen, but much too slow and boring for me!
Firestorm-Test rode it, went "ahhhhhh" Brought it :)

Most of the bikes I've owned, starting around 1965:

Aeriel Colt - worst bike ever made!
Velocette MSS - possibly one of the best ever made
Velocette KSS * 3
Velocette Venom - later Venom Thruxton
Velocette MAC
Panther
Norton 16H (side valve)

30 year gap....................

Yamaha TZR 125
Honda Firestorm
Honda VTR SP-Y * 2
Velocette KSS
Velocette Valiant
Yamaha TZR 250
Kawasaki ZXR250
Kawasaki ZZR1100
Triumph Daytona 675

I still own most of the above.

Just can't resist buying old bikes :D

I started riding,aged 16 in 1984.

First bike was a-

AE50 Kawasaki 1981 trail ped.My next bike was a.-

GP100x 1985 bought it new.For my 17th birthday,& passed my test on it.

GPz305 belt drive.Bought new in 1987,not a good bike.I wanted GPz550,but couldn't afford one.

GPz550.Bought new in 1989.

Ducati600Pantah 1984. Bought in 1996, someone attempted to steel it.So I sold it,It put me off a bit!

Harris /Matchress Rotax 500.Bought as a stopgap in 1997,it was a mistake! Made a profit when I sold it though.

Moto Guzzi LeMans 850MK2 1981.Bike bought in 1998,& kept until April 2011.When I was severely knocked off,by a blind woman!!!The bike was a write off,& looked like boat anchor! I still miss it.

Yamaha TZR250.2MA 1991 bike bought in 2003. Kept it until 2005,& sold it for a tidy sum.

Honda NTV650 1996 Bike.Bought in 2006,mainly used as a everyday hack/winter bike.Still being used today.

Honda VTR1000FY 2001.Red storm,with gold wheels.Bought in 2009,& still in the garage.

Don't know what the next bike will be? But I would like to add a CBR1100XX Blackbird to the stable. If I can find the right one?

Steve.

interesting stuff - wonder if there is anything common about how we arrived at a storm?

For me

Ke100 - bought new, used to commute on it from sussex to north london, incl the winter. Think i clocked up about 60k or so in it :D
250N Superdream - heavy, underpowered and pretty boring tbh. Big end went in Wiltshire on the way back to Sussex
GPz305 - the next commuter. pretty underwhelming
KE175 - loved it
GPz500 - green and had a lot of fun on this, touring around uk and Europe
MTX200 - import, loved it to its and superb for getting around London, kept it until it basically disintegrated :D
GPz900 - epic, got nicked from inside the garage
Ducati 907ie - quirky but loved the engine and handling, a sort of Paso variant
wife
15 years later
Firestorm - had for three years now, and needs some tlc so beginning to get my hands dirty. I love it.

KTM RC8 and 990SM-T - the next on the list, still keeping the Storm though.

cut down moped of some description (was only about 5)
yamaha fs1e when i was about 10 or 11
tomos moped (same sort of time)
Honda H100
Honda Mtx 50 (which then had the h100 engine forced into it)

after 16
yamaha dt50 (seized at 65mph down hill) i went through 3 barrels and pistons on it
Honda NSR125 (never got it on the road legally)
Honda VF400 (never got it on the road legally)
Kawasaki gpz500 (first big bike on the road)
Yamaha YZF750R (loved this bike despite it being the biggest pile of poop i have had the misfortune to encounter)
First Storm 98 model
Current Storm 2002 model

Hmmm list needs some filling up i think being 24 i think i have plenty of time
