talking to a chap at southport last weekend and he mentioned he has a brand new ohlins damper fitting kit for a firestorm, never fitted.thumperslaw wrote:On the bike. As need to fab bracket for the one am getting
yours for a song.
pm me if you want his number.
sounded a genuine lad like.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: pichoor of your side steering damper
The hole for the bolt in the frame is 2mm smaller than the inner diameter of the rose joint, so 3 choices.thumperslaw wrote:One thing i need to ask is why the plate?

1) drill & tap the frame.....the lug is quite small and there won't be much metal left
2) sleeve down the rose joint, or make a stepped bolt.......I don't have a lathe.
3) make an adapter plate out of sme 3mm stainless I had under my bench.
I chose 3), and it has the advantage that you can put a bend in it to help keep the rose joint closer to the centre of its movement.
