Can anyone recommend a good tank bag for a storm

Can anyone recommend a good tank bag for a storm. My current ones is a tad too big but I don't want a tiny one either. Cn anyone recommend a suitable one for me to look for?

Yeah, that Oxford looks about the right size and yellow bag looks good on a yellow storm.

Look on e bay under motorcycle luggage. I got the oxford, but spray glued a black felt to the base to protect the tank a bit more. Still holds tight on higher end rides ?

How have you found the rear panniers mate? have they scratched the fairings as all, would high mount exhausts burn them? what's the material like on the back of them do like the look of them, are they still waterproof

Planting a tower to tower (Blackpool to Eiffel tower) with over night camping and they look like they would be ideal, i normally wear a backpack for any long hauls but cant be arsed with it for that distance

1) The backing material is soft, but obviously will get dirty so if you look closely you will see black tank tape on the rear plastics on all areas where the paniers might contact.......I peel this off after the trip.
2) Waterproof? they do come with covers if it rains................I never risk it, all clothes go in a bin bag 1st.
3) with low mounts any paniers put too much load on the tail plastics, and will end up breaking the little tabs underneath where it mounts to the subframe. to fix this I use a length of broom handle under the subframe that is wider than the plastics and takes the load that would otherwise press into the plastics.
4) High mounts might do the same job as my broom handle and protect the plastics.........but then they will cause a problem because of heat!.
I dont know how hot the cans get on your bike, but I expect you would need some kind of heat shield or support to hold them away from the cans.

mostly now I tend to use a big waterproof tote bag strapped to the back seat for clothes, and the tent and other bits go in another tote bag underneath, if I am just solo this works better for me than panniers.

this is the aldi waterproof tote I use, I cant find any pictures of the set up I used for the welsh camping trip. for that I had the 2 bags going across the seat rather than in line like this photo. The big bag with the tent , sleeping bag and cooking gear on the bottom then the waterproof bag sat on top.

i got 1 from aldi or netto about 4 years ago its about same size as the yellow 1 but there is another attachment to double the size or use the other as a seat bag. was only about £15 aswell. magnetic and straps but ive never used the straps. threw the bike down the road once and it was still attached
