Magazine and Web article section

Post by Styler4077 »

I thought it would be a good idea to set up a section on this forum for magazine and Web articals to help us owners and theses looking to buy in to the FireStorm way of life.

It only needs to be a list of urls and maybe a header of sorts.

Don't know how to sort out a separate section but the admin will.

What do you think?

To start things rolling two links from VisorDown web site

I don't think it's a bad idea Styler, I had thought of it before, but how do you get the articles? I looked at the PB article last month but they don't give access to the articles online. I didn't think scanning would give a good enough reproduction, but if one of the forums computer bods can tell me the best way to do it I have a few articles from old mags, original sales brochure etc which I would willingly put on here.

If you can scan them at a reasonable dpi (at least 200dpi - colour photo) I can process them in Photoshop and make them into PDFs - maybe even extract the text depending on the background using OCR.

Send jpgs (keep at good quality 7 or 8) and don't resize them to me at spaderunner at mac dot com and I'll se what I can rustle up - Send 3 - 4 images in each email as each image will be 2-4 mb each

Would the result be better if I either sent them to you or dropped them off? My scanner is a Epson print/copy/scan affair.

The quality depends on the scan - If the quantity of pages is too many to email then it might be easier for me do to as I have a dedicated A4 scanner attached my Mac.

If you do a couple of test scans on Storm related stuff then we'll see if we can establish some baseline settings, then see how how they process at my end.
