I haven't done it Paul
I put a spacer between the rear shock and the chassis. I just thought dropping the front was a quick, free and easy way of making your bike turn in a little quicker. It has the same effect as putting a spacer under the shock but it will make your ground clearance slightly less (not enough to worry about unless you're on a track day)
Just ran outside and looked at my bike and realised what you mean.
After moving the forks up and retightening them undo the handle bar nuts and slide them down the forks so they are flush with the yokes again. If you don't the little bar which stops the handlebars from swiveling under hard breaking might suddenly give way and could dump yourself over the frontend.
Sorry Paul not thinking
