Re: vtr front end
I just had a look on the Ron Ayers spares fiche for the Fireblade CBR929 & 954 and the part numbers are the same for both sets of front discs. This would appear to be backed up by the sellers on E Bay who list both models on the same parts offered for sale.
Might make it easier for those looking for discs to match their front end exchanges.

Re: vtr front end
Thanks forthe fast answers lads, and the Superhawk link. I hadn't seen it before but it looks like it covers all the questions I had.
Mad4it,thanks for the offer, but unless someone can tell me that 50mm shorter still works, I would nt want to be the 1st to try it. And I would still need to try and get all the other bits, so will try And hold out till I can get a full front end assembly.
Looks like I need it all except the calipers (as I already have blade calipers fitted) and the clip-ons! But I am talking to a couple of breakers to see what price I can negotiate for the bundle.
Out of interest can you pm me to say what you paid for the front end, so i can judge if I am getting a good price?

Re: vtr front end
hey all, took my time but i found a cheapish(barely) front end over here,i fitted the bottom yolk to the frame today, the range of the steering lock i slightly impaired as in,the lock stops are catching on the bottom front subframe mount, how did ye guys overcome that? is it a case of simply grinding a small piece out of the mounting?
my names not on the guset list?.......i often go by my maiden name..nothing to be embarrassed about.....
Re: vtr front end
yes mate just grind the inside slightly. Have a look on the Superhawk forum link I put on and you will see half way down an example of the ground down stops.
What have you decided to do about bars?

i've used R1 usd front ends, both 'normal' and radial.
ive an r1 front on mine , bike had two firestorm fronts (i thought the was a problem with the original so fitted another from one i was upgrading ) , and i hated it (apart from the motor , ) bike is like a proper supermoto now , (i think theres 15 mm drop on yokes , and wierdly set up very soft on the damping ,
brilliant mod
tbh , i like hondas , but im probably in a rare few on this site , i really think the way the front suspension and brakes work together is pants
and well , i think they look awful ,
lol
im only here because the motors a peach

Re: vtr front end
As a sports tourer it works well with the standard set up, but yes if you want to give it the beans and it feel planted then the options for easy upgrades are there such as the 929 and 954 front end's being a simple straight swap over.motostorm wrote:rob... wrote:pretty much any front end, just swap the stems.....

personally i love the look, but it has to have a decent full lower fairing not a fan of half faired bikes at the best of times. with a little money and love thrown its way they can look the dogs nuts flash (rear-sets etc etc)

Re: vtr front end
ah yeah, for sure , im not even trying to say im a very fast rider i just could not get on with the front , , it was ruining the bike for me my bike with the r1 front is a scruffy looking bike , but its the one bike i intend to keep !seb421 wrote:As a sports tourer it works well with the standard set up, but yes if you want to give it the beans and it feel planted then the options for easy upgrades are there such as the 929 and 954 front end's being a simple straight swap over.motostorm wrote:rob... wrote:pretty much any front end, just swap the stems.....
