Hi all.
My 'Storm seems to be taking longer and longer each time before it fires into life - its better when its warm but from cold it cranks over probably twenty times before it fires, whereas 3 months ago it would crank over maybe 5 before firing into life.
Is there anything i should be looking out for?
Got new tyres today, and oil and filter are on their way so nearly ready for all the summer meets - just as long as it starts!
Once its running its sweet as a nut, and doesn't miss a beat.
thanks in advance for any help.

Hard to Start
New plugs and clean up the earth on the starter motor will help
Re: Hard to Start
Is the battery good? Takes a good battery to start a cold big v-twin and that would account for why it's running well from warm.
Re: Hard to Start
It could be a number of things. The battery is a good place to start, especially if it's a few years old and new spark plugs if they're getting on a bit, as already mentioned by Lloydie and Image.

Just as an alternative, have the carbs been balanced recently?

Is your thumb a bit worn, or tired?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for the tips, not sure of the age of the battery. It seems to crank it over for quite some time ok, but maybe its not cranking fast enough. To me it sounds as though the cranking speed is the same as when it used to start up quicker.
I'll get new plugs next, just done oil and filter.
I did wonder about getting the carbs balanced. Do you know what i should be expecting to pay for that as I'm not able to do that myself due to lack of equipment!
thanks for all your help.
