Storm air intake and 0-120 ish

Post by Vtrkidda »

Ive seen a few pics of storm track bikes that have extra air intakes fitted that wrap around the frame and fit into the air box under the tank where there is a small gap :confused any one ever got hold of these they look the bizz ,Id do a link but Ive got a stupid Ipad and dont know how

Also on my old xr400 I had I fitted universal box vents to let more air into the box, would this help the sorm? or would it run dodgy ,Ive not fitted a k&n yet or dyno jet ,im just not sure if its worth it for the gains Id get from the price ,Any advice would be great

Im not bothered about top end speed just 0-120 say ive got a 15 tooth sprocket yet to be fitted what else can I do

I now have two tall stacks fitted new air filter and upgrade plugs

The intakes you refer to are Moriwaki items and rare, also expensive.

No intake mods for Storms work without dyno set-up, as the fuelling is really difficult to get right by trial and error.

Adding more intake air will lead to fuelling issues.

But despite what's posted sometimes, K+N filters can be made to run well.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
