Damo shame you could not make it. I felt a bit like you regarding the CCT's but now I have watched it being done it has given me that bit of extra confidence.
Here's some pics that may be of help.

Timing mark for rear cylinder TDC on the compression stroke.
Note the alighment line next to the RT lettering.

And this is the position for the cam lobes on rear cylinder.

The rear cylinder is simple as you will have the rocker cover off and can visually/pysically check the tension on the camchain once the adjustment has been made on the new CCT.

Once the rear cylinder is done, turn the engine 1 and quarter turns anti clockwise untill you see the FT mark line up.
Sorry this pic is not as clear!

With regards to the tension on the front cylinder, as the rocker cover wont be removed, unless you want to spend an extra 3 hours stripping the front end down. you have to do it by feel. The manual CCT need's to be tightened up untill you just start to feel the tension (finger tight) be carful as it is easy to go past this point as the tension you feel is not hard (as the chain is loose) and it's easy to go beyond this point. Once your are happy that you can just feel the tension, unscrew it half a turn. Maybe put a bit of paint on one side of the bolt on the thread, so as you turn it, you can judge half a turn more precisely.

Make sure you read through Sirche's instructions first on how to remove and refit ccts' on firestorm.

Hope the few pics I have taken help.

Quick post to say thanks to all concerned on organising the workshop day, great to put faces to names and the food was top notch except for the person who brought some dodgy red packet biscuits.

Thanks again and i look forward to meeting some of you again at the next event.

Did you all enjoy the Welsh Cakes?

All in all it was a good day out, even with the slight glitch in MacNav  Thanks to everyone for bringing it altogether.

I managed to get my Regulator/Rectifier sorted out, so well pleased about that. Bike started on the button today. I'm sure that was caught just in time! Could have gone on me on the way home :eh:  Just got to re do my connections for it, at some time this week. A bit of Solder, nice terminals and re mount everything and tidy things up a bit.

Great day,
Spoilt by the red bike tipping over in the van and putting a dent in the near side silencer.
baldrocks is all I can think off.
Any one good with stainless steel sheet?
Doing the full service now and cleaning the complete rear end and trying to keep calm.
baldrocks again

Re- Macnav. It bloody got you there didn't it!

I wasn't lost at all the stop was just to check where we were & as it happens we were where we were supposed to be, right next to the cemetery 8O

Then right right left & we were there wot was the glitch then?

Oh & sorry Carl forgot about the welsh cakes & Barrys dad, who turned up on a Suzuki & brought some Hot X buns at which point Jonesy started sweating & shaking mumbling swear words & cursing Easter.

Mac.

Thanks guys you made it the day it was by getting to mine by hook or by crook. Thankfully it wasn't held today! - Twas a pleasure and ta for bringing all the nibbles. Handily the remaining digestives are helping to soak up the cholesterol from the bangers. Well done and thanks again to Tony for doing all he did and bringing his Honda special tool, the Mk1 club hammer.

Bazza let me know when you want to pop by to collect your odds & sods.
