Damn you gravity and damn you Newton!
Came home this afternoon and was greated by the awful sight my bike lying on it's side.
Looks like the disc thinger I was using under the sidestand had slipped and the bike, thinking it looked like fun, followed :-(
The upper is scratched to hell, fortunately, the crashshroms took most of the damage, but the worst thing is the dent in my scorpion can :-( Nothing's cracked though so that's a result I suppose.
Anyone know a good place in cheltenham/gloucester to get either a fairing repair and the dent in the can sorted, or a new fairing?
I've been quoted 200.00 for the fairing from Bransons, which seemed a little steep. Having said that I've just been quoted 257.39 from the Superbike surgery for a colour matched fairing including fitting at home or work. What do you think? Does anyone know where I can get one super cheap?
All I can say is F*£&%&*%($($*"!*ing hell!
So if anyone is interested in a scratched to hell italian red fairing left upper I could well sort you out!

Sympathy,
my Blackbird got blown over in the storms a few years ago while I was at work.
A well meaning hospital porter had tried to pick it up for me. ( all 39 stone of it)
All he managed to do was spin it around on the gravel...........sure you can imagine what the fairing looked like.

it may be clever, but its not big.
It's winter now so you might be better off leaving the fairing until better weather if it is just scratched, keep checking ebay as always parts turning up cheap, there was a red fairing on there for £30 buy it now, was in one piece, just been repaired and needed painting so you can definetly get something cheaper than £120 if you don't mind waiting...

The official Honda price is around the £190 mark inn colour with decals on it.
Mine fell of the stand in the summer and did the left fairing
I got prices to repair it and for what they would charge you might as well get a new one. You also have the problem of the paint shop matching the colour.
Even if you can get one at trade price they are still about £160.
I said sod it kept it as it was, because I did the Renthal bar conversion.
The Honda colours are a 3 coat paint. If you just want to touch it up got to your local car paint suppliers and just get the nearest non metallic touch up pot for less than a tenner, then you can bide your time on ebay or the breakers yards.

Thanks peep's.
Looking at it again (with much less emotion
) I got the finest emery paper on it and it's come up quite well. I think the two of the three horrid scratches may even rub out with more skilled hands than my ape mitts.
The remaining one is really nasty and right in the middle of the decal so I'll probably sort it by getting a new decal :-)
Then all I've got to do is get the dent out of the can and she'll be beautiful again

Cans are quite easy to repair. Drill out the rivets / unbolt the end can and the sleeve will slide out. It's quite easy to push out a dent from the inside as long as you use a suitable former to support the can.
Replacement sleeves are available, can't find the link atm
Or just turn it round so the dent is on the inside.

Cheers Druid,
I'm dangerous with any form of hand tool, and can turn any form of powered tool into a killing machine. Things tend to get taken apart then "botched" back together, mostly using no-nails and/or supaglue when I've knackered all possible threads.
Probably get my more handy brother to sort the can
