exhaust help.

Post by hillvtr »

Does anyone have experience of high level blue flame exhausts?

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to messing around with my bike, so am interested in how tricky it is to fit a pair of high level cans, and does it mean getting rid of the rear pegs?

Always open to suggestions for other exhausts if anyone has any personal fave's.

cheers. :D

That's a fair chunk cheaper than the blue flames, so think i might have to have another look around.

thanks

HAve a word with Stormsmasher, he has dealings with the guy's at art and sometimes gets stuff cheaper. I have Hi levels on mine and they are easy to fit and look alot better than low levels (IMHO). You can get the rear footpeg spacers that allow you to keep the pillion pegs if needed.

I have Hi Level Blue Flames on mine. They were fitted when I bought the bike. They look great, especially from the back. Much better then the original pipes.

They sound great - but that's being said about all aftermarket.

They are fitted over the rear pegs but these are still useable (just!). I am sure you could get spacers so to keep the use of the whole peg.

Let me know I can send you pictures. Here is one for a preview:

Blue Flames

Post by tattie »

I have High level blue flames on my 97. They look good from the rear (after a bit of pushing, pulling and a bit of hacksawing when fitting).
Sound good.
If retaining the rear pegs they give you 2no whopping 4" spacers, I felt that if anyone heavier than the tooth fairy put weight on them whilst climbing on, you might end up with a bent subframe so no rear pegs on mine.
The way the link pipes sweep up behind the front pegs leaves no room for you to put the ball of your feet on the front pegs (size 10 ).
A mate got different link pipes and they do away with this problem.
Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Hi HillVTR,

Sorry being slow to respond.
Send me your email address and I can send you some pictures I took today. I can also send you a sound file which I recorded a few weeks back.

By the way http://www.xsmoto.co.uk do a sale on TSR exhausts. I don't know them or what they look like but they are going for £99.95 per can! That's not bad.
