Post by seb421 »

If i get a Nitron Sport shock, can i add the Hydrolic Pre-load adjuster at a later date or does it have to be factory fitted?

No Seb Nirton dont use Hydrolic adjusters at all.

They will however probably be able to add a Hydraulic adjuster at a later date as they are all basically hand built using the same components.

Seriously though I would of thought that adding it at a later date will increase the cost somewhat over waiting a bit longer saving a few more pennies & getting one with Pre-load fitted from new.

Think of it like this.....

Shock without 300.

Shock with 350.

Shock with out then sent back to add adjuster 300 + 20 p&p + adjuster 50 (+?) + labour 50 (+?) + 20p&p

All prices entirely made up just to make a point. Thing is they will probably be happy to retro fit it but unlikely to do it for free.

Be a bit more paitent save up a bit longer & get it all in one go.

Yes Mac sorry for the spelling mistake.

It's around 180 quid the optional adjuster which will mean waiting another months pay,

So to any one that has a nitron fitted or is in the know can you inform me if fitting the optional adjuster can be fitted easy at a later date?

Wish it was that easy tony mate, I keep away from that stuff

Seb
I would be very confident that it could be added later, but cant say 100% as i never askrd them. You are best to talk to Nitron to see how much it would cost to retrofit then decide from there.

I know that's twice in one week now, I might have to seek some therapy !

Talking of therapy, I actually saw Tony Mons clean a bit of his bike today, well he wiped the tank with his sleeve so its not really cleaning is it but he did use the 'P' word in a sentence admitting to using some. I swear I saw him shaking as he said it!

Spent a day Nitron as they held a HOC open day for us.
A few pluses points.

They say that your shock is for life, by that they said when you sell your bike swap the units buy your new bike and they will rebuild your shock to fit your new bike. All the parts are interchangeable.
(They are featured in this months Performance Bike magazine) good read

Three specs as we speak at the moment. All use 85% of the same parts.
New lower cost £350 due out this summer.

They said their prices will remain low but quality High to keep new and old customers happy, they are not ohlins, never want to be......

Work shop in the warehouse was like an operation theatre.
Very very impressed.
Maybe a VTR day?
