Brake Pad Question

Post by seb421 »

Is it best practice to replace pads when putting new discs on, or is it fine to use the old ones if there is still decent pad life left?

Thanks

You call mate but for the price change them all ifyou can,as some softer pads contour to the shape of the old discs

I was going to swap the wheels over on the blade to the storm and use that but i just cant be arsed with the pissing about to be honest, only got one front paddock stand which means starping one bike to the roof again

When i take the storm down with new Discs and Pads wont the brakes be sh1t till they bed in resulting in a possible fail on the test? or will the tester see its brand new stuff and allow for this?

Sorry if it's dumb sh1t questions, had very little sleep

+ 1 there

I would put new pads in with new discs. With regards to the MOT brake test, you will probably have more problems with the old ones than new pads. At least the new pads will be flush with the new discs and will have contact over the whole area.
