Failed MOT :(

Front wheel bearings now and suspension bush bearings or something?, storm had only done 5k since last year :thumbdown:

Took the blade as well, that passed :thumbup:

But cant use the blade as i wont be coverd till mine has mot, catch 22, doh! :thumbdown:

thought you had the front bearings done?and the other is that swingarm bushes?

When i checked them they was fine, had them replaced just 5 k ago, not done a single wheelie in those 5 k i think either took it easy after constant wheelies at work shagged the last lot of bearings

he said something bushes and showed me the play init, all i heard is cha-ching more money!!!

While your doing the swing arm best give the linkage bearings a thorough going through

They are doing it there i cba now,

Apparently they was so wombles they had to remove the bolt with force and the bearings had all collapsed etc,


Not going to be ready till tommorow now, god knows how much this is gona cost, im skint as wombles till i get the MOT and can see the scorpions off

well atleast the sale of the scorpions should just about cover the bill,some mot testers think they have a lisence to print money,but there not all bad,as im one

Hope so was either going to go oulton this weekend or fishing with the lads out on the bike somewhere

Looks like the nice weather is turning now anyway, i woke up buzzing today at the thought of a new MOT and a proper blast

Mot guy marked my dads blade down as slight warped disc's he's convinced I've been giving both bikes the beans

Suspension linkages are a much overlooked item for maintenance.
My storm needed a whole new set after 36k miles, they had locked solid due to not greasing at the recommended intervals.
Just had to do the same with my FJR after not greasing for two years.

Foooooook 380 quid bill for MOT!!

25 quid for the blade, 25 quid for the storm, then front wheel bearings and linkage bearings kit, plus labour, plus vat

does that sound about right?

wombles hell, that just goes to show how much we save when doing our own work. So that's about £265 after the mot's and tax taken off. So minus the parts (work that out) and then you got your labour. 8O

At least you got them legal know and you can get back out on the road. :thumbup

makes me happy to have a bloke called carl who lives near me, otherwise my mot might have cost me as much as yours. btw an mot in london cost me £35 a tenner more than yours.
as carl said at least you can give your bike the beans now...... :thumbup:

For any work like that i used to use Damon Hill Mobile Mechanic from Chorley area near me, he was mint, took the bike away in the van, and had it back asap and was very good with prices

No one has seen him in ages :(

Like me :thumbup: bennys not to far from me a tank of fuel dose his jobs :lol: :wink: he makes it look so easy when he playing with your bike :crazy:
Plus He takes you round his private race track which now has a 40 speed limit :x :lol: :lol:
