Always looking at bike trader etc for a bargain, just to have something in the Garage for a spare sunny day.Anyway, mate of mine decided he wanted to sell his bike that he has had for 7 years, Chatted about it a couple of times but nothing serious. I chatted in depth to him about a month ago and it turned out that the bike in question was a 2001 Firestorm in red with 46k on the clock. Good friend of his used to race them at brands and has always maintained it, 2011 engine overhaul, new head bearings, forkseals and upgraded suspension and race cans fitted. He has all the origional parts and lots of spare ods and sods too.
Sounded interesting so he rode it over for me to see yesterday and I was pretty impressed. needs a bloody good scrub to bring it up to my 2 wheel standard and I think a few cosmetic tweaks are in order to get it looking right.
Anyway my eyes nearly fell out when he offered it to me for £800 with a fresh MOT. I shook his hand (obviously) and will take it off him next week. It failed MOT today for a leaking fork seal but he will get it fixed and retested before i take it.
Read loads of reviews and know from general experience that the honda engine is really reliable and the Storm is a comfy, grunty v2. really looking forward to getting my hands on it. Insurance was only £150 fully comp, i must me getting old.

Anyway, will get some pics on and hope to see you out on the road.
