The Barn? Where's that?

I think biker comraderie is still around but it's been diluted by the huge amount of new wave bikers around nowadays. Especially commuters. There's still comraderie around though. One of my pastimes is to ride over Woodhead Pass on my own and stop at a lay-by and just wait for another biker to pull in and hook up with me and then rde around High Peak. I never have to wait long and I've made a lot of friends that way. So the comraderie is still there if you look in the right places.

that's called 'dogging' mate!
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Sorry I had to dig this post up, but I agree, when I first started riding it didnt matter what bike or type you rode most people would nod or wave and even pull over and help you out if your in trouble.

Since the born again biker craze it has been hugely diluted.

When I ride my Harley you get other people on Harley nod or wave, when im on my VTR1000 the same people wont even glance over, the same as sportbike rider rarley even look up, but when im on the VTR they nod.

Very strange.

As I said on the Workshop day, you even get lifestyle Harley enthusiats say things like " when you gonna get a real Harley ", well not to my face anyway. And these are the same people who wont acknowledge you on the road. Idiots, sorry but I dont want to spend 15 grand on an overpriced cruiser, and beside I LIKE the sportster they are my favourite Harley.

But screw em, they dont understand the lifestyle, because its not what they think it is, and it not what they know, to much sons of anarchy if you ask me.

All the lifestyle is is a genuine love for riding and working on your bike, attending events because you like to, whatever motorcycle brand or type you ride.

Some of us look like tramps because we live on our bikes and get grotty from the road, and dont want to keep buying clothes because we cant afford it, not because we think it looks cool.

Personally I always pull over and help someone broken down bike or car, more so with bikes.

You get a holes in every niche of society, why should biking be any different.

Those were the days. How the world has changed!

I find it depends on where I'm riding. In all honesty I am one of those that just ignore other bikers at time's. Especially around town in busy traffic, but I'm always thinking about others as in, when filtering up to lights, don't block who's behind and pull round more into the cycle bit across the front. So all the bikes can line up and have a race   Joking.
And the worst one is when I see a motorcycle accident with ambulance etc etc, I really feel for them. It slows me down and i'll sit up and rubber neck shaking my head. Ouch.
On the other hand, when I'm on the country A roads lanes I always give a nod and I mostly get nods. And when in the country, suburbs people generally are a lot friendlier as they still have working communities in some places. You always get the odd knob but IMO the further out of the rat race you get, the friendlier it gets.

It is for true bikers.

That's my excuse anyway

I do with bikes, not cars unless it's a female  One day I was on the A21 going towards Hastings from M25 and where the road goes into single carriageway (Sevenoaks area) there was a motorcyclist pushing his bike up the hill. I stopped. He had run out of fuel so I gave him a lift to the next fuel station, which I knew was just over the hill and round the bend. He appreciated it but looked at me like I was some kind of weirdo.

Not quite almost there when you paste the quote tags you get the two tags. The ending/last tag has a / before the name. paste your contents in between the two tags
] in here [ which you have done. But you next bit is not outside the end tag. Move your cursor outside the closing bracket ]
Make sure your paste the next bit after that. New paragraph if needied.

Like this.
