The Geelong Carbon one is £120ish delivered to the UK if anybody is interested...had an idea before of making it look a part of the tank by glassing over the edges and smoothing it in...not gonna happen now though lol

I have one fitted to mine. I actually placed each pad on seperatly so i could increase the height of tank protection.

It's personal preference really. IMO I prefer the HRC pad's, even over the great big carbon fibre thing. Though I like snoogles idea of incorporating it into the design of tank, especially if the tank was Black. MMmmm Nice.

If it were me I would go down the HRC route. But whatever you do , remember you only have one chance to stick it on or you will lift paint removing it. Overlay them with the paper backing first to see what they look like and to get the right placement.

Have Fun

The one on mine is real carbon fibre mate and is manufactured to order by Pyramid for, if I remember correctly, £25.
Have a look at the pics posted previously.

Now that's quite nice, not so large and good value for real carbon. I can see BSM's eyes lighting up when he sees that. 8) I think I know what it is about that style I don't like as much. It's that it's one complete piece. I like the bit of pad then a bit of tank and then a pad, tank and so on. If that makes sense.

Yep. Stick each section (with the backing paper still attached) with blutac, then fit each one carefully in relation to the others, rather than just starting with one.
And measure first, to make sure they're equally spaced either side.
Lastly, don't do it on the sidestand, use a paddock stand, so the bike's upright.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Good tip, keeping the bike upright and straight. I would also give the area a quick wipe over with Methylated spirit first to clean any dirt/grime or old sticker residue.

Seen these two on line.....been thinking about changing mine. I'm bored with the normal "spine look" ones.

BSM - should you consider matching the protection area to that of the liable potential mass it is being protected from?

And isn't the tank being carbon wrapped? Carbon on carbon mmm
