One thing to take into consideration is that the db is going to vary according to where the bike is at the time and your surroundings. As you all know when in enclosed spaces (tunnels etc :D ) things get a bit louder. So surrounding buildings, walls and things are going to alter the readings.

How do they take readings on track days, would that be in an open space like down on the circuit, or sitting in a pit garage?

Gonna do mine as well when I get a db meter. :thumbup:

Open space, normally.

If there's a building nearby, stand between the bike and the building, to muffle reflected noise with your own soft flabby body.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
