Operation Storm II - Pt IV - Wales - Sept 6th-8th 2013
As you know by now, benny "martin" hedges passed away on the 21st July 2013 after coming off his bike. Many of the members on here met Martin for the first time at the first Operation Storm Wales I organised. As a result, this meet will be in memory of Martin.
Date: September 6th-8th 2013
Place: http://www.wyesidecamping.co.uk
There is no booking at the camp site. It's just turn up, pay and pitch
B&Bs are also available but you'll need to book early.
Itinerary
Friday: Ride up (or across, or down) and meet at a camp site
Saturday: Official Ride out day - making lots of noise - Lunch at Bala
Sunday: Head home
"Why the same place?" I hear you cry....well
Campsite = Great
Food = Great
Beer = Great
Location = Great for the majority

Scenery = Breathtaking
Having just completed the 3rd year of this get together, we know what we are gonna get
Change of date
I have moved it to later in the year but there is still no guarantee that we'll have good weather so be prepared for wet roads or face potential disappointment.
Timings
We will be heading out at 9am. Make sure you are all up fed/watered, fuelled up and ready to go.
Lunch will be between 12:00 and 13:00 in Bala - http://goo.gl/maps/3Gxfx Park up near the memorial. There is a pub, cafe and hole in the wall near by.
Head out of Bala for 14:00 to finish the rest of the ride

Important Info for Operation Storms/Meet & Rides
Progressive and Leisurely Groups
As it was a success at the Yorkshire meet we will be running two groups.
Group one - Progressive
Lead and tail: Shared between AMCQ46 and MJonesy
Join this group if you are a confident rider. You will be comfortable riding at the national speed limit when it is safe to do so. You ride to the conditions. The focus of this group is riding.
Proposed progressive route - http://goo.gl/maps/5gACc Al and Murray to agree the after lunch route.
Group two - Leisurely
Lead and tail: Flatty and Adyf
This group is for riders that are more comfortable at a leisurely pace. You will still be happy to maintain the national speed limit when the need arises (to avoid holding up other traffic) but also like to look at the scenery. The focus of this group is to enjoy the roads whilst taking in the surroundings. It's also ideal if you have not been on one of these before and want to get an idea of what its all about.
Proposed leisurely route - http://goo.gl/maps/i3aej
We'll head out of Rhayader and do the northern section loop back to Rhayader. This will give anyone who wants or needs to, the chance to end their ride and kick back with a few beers etc.
Those that want to can then head out of Rhayader again and do the southern section loop to Brecon and back to Rhayder.
This will ensure that those who want to ride wales at a leisurely pace can choose how much of it they want. There will be absolutely no pressure in the leisurely group so, if this is stopping you from coming, don't let it
Note 1: Both groups will be doing the same route up to Bala (not necessarily together) where we will stop for lunch
Note 2: All this is subject to change depending of weather.
WE NEED MORE STORMS!!! lol

It'll be at the Vic bikers pub in Coalville and probably the 1st or 2nd weekend in August. I'll stick a post up in "Sunday Runs, Rideouts, Track days ,Rallys, Events" once I have all the details

should be back on my storm by september lol
coalville is ace btw.... we should prewarn them and doss in the pub, then we dont have to cart loads of luggage, just a sleeping bag.
its £5 a head to sleep in the pub - but a minimum of 10 peeps iirc.
(any excuse for a stop behind lol - and if u remember, the kebabs in the village were awesome )

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
