it was only a cheap video camera carl, when you coming around with your decibel meter, we can bugger off to some open space and take a reading of both bikes, and if you've got a decent camera we can video it...... :thumbup:
i was tempted to pop into brands hatch today to see if there was a trackday on, i might be able to blag a sound test, but i didn't have time in the end :thumbup:

BSM v Cybercarl

This was shot in a large empty car park. No surrounding buildings in the near vicinity.

BSM = 116.4db
Cybercarl = 119.7db

What is it about bikes that makes grown men behave like kids? I mean, comparing exhausts? really?

Superb :thumbup: :lol:

Sorry, slightly O/T, but does a trackday noise restriction rule out anything but standard cans? Brands hatch is 101-105bd (depending on track and time of day) are there any race cans that typically fall within that?
Mine are loud, but more deep than loud, and they're not that loud, really...

Wouldn't let me on with my high levels, they even whinged about the standard cans, but I blame that on the general engine rattles and intake noise mine made before it's winter rebuild.

Sounded well odd with more intake noise that exhaust noise.....

As has been said, keep it as far away from buildings in the vicinity as you can when having the test done.

Why not ride to any track day and get it checked?
Better that you know BEFORE you turn up having paid the money in advance.....

Just ride into the circuit, into the paddock, through the tunnel and find a marshal/organiser.

There's one on today; I can hear them going round as I type.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Cheers Tony, I may do that then.
Although, someone has pointed me in the direction of some useful looking things call db killers, they look like extra (or just larger?) baffles that fit into most cans. I'll start a seperate thread on it, don't want to spam this one, especially with questions on killing noise :lol:

The DM's I mentioned a few posts back registered at 111.9db @ Snetterton (102db limit :/). I did what Tony Suggests above and rode out there a couple of weeks back for a sound check. Ive since replaced them with a set of Microns and today fitted DB killers from SP engineering (3mm too tight to had to cut the lugs off and grind them down - Their site lists 50 mm, but they are actually 52mm. So check the ID of your cans well). They have definetly took the bass out of the tunes, so as I have a track day booked for next Thursday Im hoping and praying the things pass.
