I bought the adjustable version of this and vibration was horrendous, might have another play with it on the new bike with additional rubber washers to see if it gets any better

get some black tack, its a much stronger version of blue tack, it will help with vibration and its mega sticky, i can stick the little camera i have to the front of the bike and it won't come off, and thats at well into 3 figure speedsplayerone wrote:I bought the adjustable version of this and vibration was horrendous, might have another play with it on the new bike with additional rubber washers to see if it gets any better

A mate of Benny's thought he'd have it but then decided to just live with it not charging, apparently....
Cheeky Kev has it at the moment.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Only if you have a spare engine laying around.
If a mechanic (who I must assume knows what a rattly CCT sounds like ) isn't interested in fixing it, it won't be an easy fix, so engine out, strip and inspect.
You might need a replacement engine; maybe a repair, no way of knowing until you hear it and take a chance or buy it and strip to inspect.
Could be small ends, but I've never stripped a Storm engine and found that problem, more likely clutch bearing, not the easy one in the basket but the nasty one in the cases on the clutch side of the output shaft.
Simple enough to fix, but you have to split the cases to get it out and replace; while you're there at that mileage you really have to replace the mains and big ends.
By the time you add big end bolts, head gaskets, alt and clutch gaskets you're over £300 for parts, and at least four days labour.
Alternatively a replacement engine (but no guarantee that that is any good until you fire it up and find out) plus three days labour.
And if the engine bolts have seized, add a day, and possibly more parts needed.
I'd say no, unless you really, really want it, or have nothing else to do for a week.
For £1500-1700 you'll get one that's ok to start with, if you wait until Autumn.
£2000 this time of year.
However he won't get £1000 for breaking it unless he sells that engine as a runner.
Watch out for slightly off shade red tanks on Ebay in a week or so....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
