sad news

Post by agentpineapple »

about a month ago i ordered a new screen for my bike, i bought it from vyxxn performance.
but after 3 weeks i still hadn't recieved the item, i gave them 3 weeks because the screen was made to order, anyway last week i sent them an email, asking if there was a problem.
heres the reply i got.

Hi,

I'm sorry to have to tell you that Marc died in a motorbike accident on 12th May. I love riding bikes, but do not have his deep knowledge of them, so I am having to wind his business up. I am sorry that I will not be able to supply the screen you ordered.
If you have paid for it, please let me know and I will arrange a refund as soon as possible. My mobile number is 07841 496 911 if you have any questions or do not receive your refund soon - it's a difficult time and I keep forgetting stuff.

Best wishes,

J-P Roberts, Marc's friend and brother

i was saddened to hear this news, i'd never met the bloke, but its always a real shame that someone who was providing a service for the biking community, should lose their life, at least he was doing what he loved when he died.
having dealt with lots of internet sellers over the years i thought that would be the end of it, no screen or money back.
but to my surprise two days ago the screen turned up in perfect condition. it fits the bike perfectly and i'm 100% happy with it, i was also surprised that as i was about to email mr roberts today, i get a phone call from him, asking if i got the screen and is it ok, do i want a refund and so on, i could tell from his tone of voice he was speaking with a heavy heart. we had a short conversation and he told me that hundreds of bikers on there bikes turned up for his brothers service, and that comforted him greatly.
as i said a very sad story.
the website has now closed probably for good. and it seems the biking community has lost another good guy :(
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!

When you hear someone has died in a motorcycle crash it always seems sudden and brings home to you that we ride with death as a pillion everyime we throw our legs over our two wheeled machines.

But I always try to remember, that its better to die doing what you enjoy than laying as an 80 year old man hooked up to life giving machines, dying and looking back and wishing you had done more or done what you was pationate about, looking back with regret.

Shame about Marc.
I met him once at the Bulldog Bash- he'd organised a meeting for all of the people on the bulldog forum community, and I went along to meet some of the other posters.

He had a good range of shiny stuff, aimed at the cruiser and chop market, mostly, but I suppose at the Bulldog that's what you're going to take.

Didn't know him hardly at all, but as I recall a nice bloke, and knew what he was on about.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
