darrenmartin wrote:Hey Seb, no not yet. I keep looking at em and thinking yeh ill have a go but i aint done brakes before and knowing my luck id be off the road for days with probs  you know what its like until you actualy have a go at some thing theres always that part of ya saying ..no dont go there, you dont know what your doing! But until you get on and have a go youl never learn  But i am going to have a go. Im sure the brake fluid thats in the system at the moment is the origional as its dark brown! do we have a thread on the forum for brakes and line changes? If not may be agood one to get up
I think there is once i started for that very set you have the first time i did brakes :) cocked it up first time and put washers on wrong, that's why i sent pic in PM lol

if i can find the link i will link to it mate :)

Defo get some new DOT4 stuff and try to keep it upright and stop it swooshing around when you go Halfords or where ever for it, help stop little air bubbles in the fluid

Take your Fender off that's a must as any fluid that squirts up can ruin plastics, wrap a damp towel around the master cylinder filler up cup top stop and of the brake fluid from running when you are pumping the lever and filling up (that's if you don't take the front fairing off) also it pays to have a watering can with some water in it to hand in case any spills happen you can dilute the horrible fluid with water right away and then mop it up

Goof luck with it mate, you could wait until a workshop day and have one of the pros guide you through it also

Ive got Pirelli Dialbo Rosso Corsa's on mine. Fantastic road/track tyres!!

Work in the wet too!

As proven by my recent track day.

I run bt023s. Bloody good they are too. Any sport touring tyre like mentioned already will be perfect. Don't get sucked onto buy so called sticky tyres as they only offer good grip once warmed up. This catches lots of people out where as sport touring tyres warm up quicker but also offer optimum grip at a lower temp.

I sometimes go on the track with mine and they are great. So I reckon this is your short list.

Pilot 3s
Bt023
roadsmart 2s

That's my opinion anyway. I would like to try roadsmart 2s next.

theyre not too bad tbh... thing is they only work well when theyre warmed up, and a wet road doesnt really allow them to get to temp, rather than it being an issue with the amount of water they can dispel...

i use the racetec scrubs off the bsb lads and tbh i get 4k+ from a rear scrub....

you must be going for the k3 lol, theyre the same compound as pencil rubbers lol!
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I have the 021's on mine, never had any problems with them wet or dry.

Give me loads of confidence (especially in the dry!) in fact I just had another rear fitted as the front is still only half worn.

Ive got road pilot 2s on my zx9 and 3s on the storm and they are both awesome....im really happy with them.. the zx9s tyres are filled with nitrogen so i never have to bother checking my tyre pressure as they stay as they should ...had the storms bridgestones filled with nitrogen but for some reason i just didnt like ..so when i changed to rp3s i went back to air again and bike handles great :)

No probs mate, if your like me it's like a minefield trying to pick 'the best' tyres. I've found if I'm happy with something it's best to stick to what you know. :plainsmile

i use the scrubs, and i think they are fine in the wet, as long as your not trying to be Rossi, never caused me any problems, and they last pretty good, bearing in mind i only pay 80 quid for them :)
