I recommend a heavy duty X-ring ring kit

Guys if i go 1 tooth less on the front sproket, what is the number of teeth for the rear? and am i rite in thinking that if u drop 1 from the front acceleration is increased with a drop in top speed. Also which make and type of c/s should i go for. Thanks fellas  oh and whats the chains "pitch" and why are they differant coz i can buy chains for the Storm but they have a differant pitch. and do i go "heavy duty" "o ring" or stick close to the origional  too many to pick from :eek2

Standard sizes are 16 front, 41 rear.
Yes, reducing front or increasing rear will have the effect you describe.
Re pitch, don't bother fitting a 520; although they're slightly lighter they'll wear quicker.
Might be a good idea for racing, where grams count, but not for road use.

Due to the amount of faffing about and getting greasy, I'd suggest that you do the job properly, with decent quality parts, and have done with it.
An X ring chain is a good choice, go for heavy duty or extra heavy duty.
DID, AFAM or equivalent quality chain, and as good sprockets as you can afford.

This seems very cheap for a new one:

but you'll need to buy a front sprocket separately, between £12 and £20 for a front.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

How many miles can one expect from road use with a 520 chain and ally sprockets

Trying work out the inertia difference

Would it dyno more bhp with a 520 on?

It varies.
Usage, weather, time of year, how often it's lubed, whether you ever clean it, if there's a Scotoiler fitted, etc, etc.

Use 'em up and wear 'em out, then fit a new set.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
