My spacers arrived today- 3x2mm. Does anybody have any suggestions (generic) about what I should do with the front, once I have put say 4mm spacers in?

Yes. Fit a Hyperpro spring kit, with 7.5 weight oil, and an air gap of 145mm.

Tony. Ta, done - I changed my springs asap because of the rubbish front stock springs. I noticed an immediate improvement, and I also put a hyper pro rear spring onto the stock damper - not sure what difference this has made - though I've got it at its softest setting as factory settings was much MUCH too hard - like it was solid!!!

No I wasn't sure if there were any related setting changes advised for the front when the back is raised a little?

Guy's.... you can not pay enough $, £ or Euroes for 1st hand (oh yes, iv been there and tried that, but this works better) kind of experiance, that comes with having the likes of Tony.mon and the other individuals that are in no way frightend to get their finger nails dirty (very dirty in some cases) who take delight in spreading the news that "this" or "that" works and it came about by us doing it in "this" or "that" perticular way. (sorry about the spelling )
We may not say it,but after instruction's have been followed on the advice of individuals such as yourself (Tony) and a job of any level is completed with succsess, we thank you.

Actually I don't have Hyperpro springs in mine, it came with WP's fitted, and I've just played with oil levels/airgaps etc to find a setting I'm happy with.
But I've fitted quite a few sets of Hyperpro's, and riding them back-to-back with standard springs always gives rise to a "Why didn't I do this years ago?" comment from the owner.
Settings straight out of the box work very well for most average sorts of riders, but there's adjustment enough to satisfy almost everyone.
And no, I don't get commission, more's the pity!

But praise for a good and cost-effective mod where it's due.

Roger's fork conversions are better still, but a fair bit more expensive, so this is a good first step for many people, and enough to be satisfied with for most.

Hey Griff i picked up an X11 stand yesterday with all fittings and the side stand kill switch for £10 turns out the X11 is the code for the CB1100 and its stand, coz its 30mm longer puts the Storm back to a more upwright stance. May be worth a look m8 (but still let us know how u get on as "knowledge is power! "

Hi Darren, I know there are two threads running about this but do you know which year X11/CBR1100 your side stand is from - don't want to make same mistake again and get wrong year / model of stand, I know the CBr1000 is the 04-07 year, but can't find any as yet, ta, Griff

Hey Griff iv just re-checked on E-bay and the stand i bought was a 2000 model, i couldn't use the main bracket that came with it (as only 1 hole lined up with the Storms) but after taking off this bracket it was a straight swap m8, one for the other. If ya still not sure or your havin probs i could swap em over again and then re-swap and post a load of photos. Let me know m8

Why not just drop the yolks down the fork legs by 5mm and get the same balance as jacking the back up ?
