CCT Oil leak

Fitted some of Bazza's manual ccts last year, however I have notices a slight oil leak on the rear cct

Have tightened the lock nut but its still leaking

Your advice on rectifying the problem please

Set to correct timing marks loosen them off and apply decent coat of loctite or similar product, that should suffice has worked fine for me mate

+1 on that. You will have to put some sealant along the thread.

+2. Back out the cct (with the engine set at rear TDC- remember you'll need to take the rear cam cover off to make sure you're at the correct TDC- then wind the bolt out 10-15mm and push silicon sealer into the thread all round. Wind it back in and re-tension.

cant you just use two spanners and losen one while holding the other and spread some on it like that thats info i got on here and it works fine?

you need to get the loctite / sealant onto the main bolt thread, not onto the locknut,. If you are going to undo the main bolt, it will slacken the chain tension, and that should only be done at the correct TDC timing mark, or you will jump teeth and bend valves

It's best to put it back to TDC so the camchain is not under tension. There's less chance of the chain slipping a tooth and knocking the timing out that way when loosening off.

ok so if it was all set up spot on like it was as you helped with my motorbike man on phone which im very greatfull for
And the only problem was a slight seap of oil trickling down the thread.And it's stopped since I used the loctite stuff useing the above way mentioned have I to worry about any thing.
And should the cct of bazza's leak or in general are they all the same

chris, all manuals will leak oil down the thread on the rear as it points down hill. if it is not leaking now, you have nothing to worry about

yeah mine leaked to start with. just backed it out a bit and put a tiny bit of silicone on it?
