Re: This weather STINKS!
It's fecking horrible. just driven back from Barrow ( in the van ) and everyones gone mental, right up me butt even though you can only see about 50 yards. Still I hate the twats that have their fog lights on. Its not foggy!

Re: This weather STINKS!
this year, summer is a total washout, if I hear any water companies moaning about a drought this year, i'm gonna drown the fekker.
Re: This weather STINKS!
There seems no end to it. Been looking forward to summer for ages and it turns out like this
Should be cracking the flags now. Hope it bucks up for my birthday at Oulton Park in 2 weeks!

Re: This weather STINKS!
It is utter wombles.
Fishing a couple of evenings ago, huddled under the brolly, being battered by strom force winds whilst the rain lashed down, freezing my butt off
It's June FFS

Just bought some new gear from Hein Gericke. Well, it's definitely waterproof
That proved, wish the rain would now piss off

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: This weather STINKS!
I work shifts so it's a nightmare for me. 5am even in the spring/summer can be pretty damn cool, so all the gear, heated grips, not too bad. At least the roads are empty :-)
Then coming home at 2pm, all the gear blue skies and red hot so desperately trying to keep moving through the traffic just to keep cool.
Love it.

Re: This weather STINKS!
Friday evening was wombles horrible
wombles wombles horrible
the Pilot road three's work bloody well but when asked to cross a river its asking a bit much for them
Sad to report the bike went down on Friday night, i was coming off the motorway and at the roundabout heading towards Farington (Leyland) in the filter lane before the round about on the left (single lane) and there is a car stopped in the middle no hazards on or reverse lights or anything just stopped i can see the driver on the phone so i think wombles wonker what a place to stop and chat sh1t.
blat past the car then shock horror its a wombles lake where the road should be, im late for work as it is, sh1t... so i continue thinking its not going to be that deep
i didn't know the road dipped down... before i knew it water was coming up over the screen, sh1t!!! then the bike couldn't get any traction kept it pinned and plowing forwad slowly water going everywhere ... gets to the middle and the force of the water pushing from left to right across the road lifted the bike from under me and it went down in slow motion luckily at very low speed and down onto my leg, thank wombles for those new boots
picked the bike up asap and it was still running (phew) got back on and rode it out, got to work left it running for a good while dry out and inspected the bike for damage
No damage what a result all there was is a small scrape on the Chinese indicator on the front, thank god my leg took the weight
Was thiking wombles Repsol fairings will be wombles, bars may be bent, gear lever, left side yoshi, nope nothing!!!
Still was very pissed off with my self for attempting that crossing, got to work and they said why have you bothered coming in in this? typical

Re: This weather STINKS!
You had a lucky escape there Seb. Your like me, rather damage/bruise yourself rather than the bike. As long as there's no broken bones, damage to the body is cheaper.

Re: This weather STINKS!
Lol agree mate the NHS will fix me up and ive paid for that service so might as well make use of it, dont think they would cover cost of repairs to the bike mind so would rather limp for a week than bugger the bike up anyday. Ive done that road for over 3years since working at UPS and I have never seen anything more than a little puddle by the curb side that was a full on river coming across both sides :shock:cybercarl wrote:You had a lucky escape there Seb. Re: This weather STINKS!
Definitely lucky. Glad your bike is ok (oh, and you lol) nothing hurt, apart from your pride - don't worry about that, just another story for the pub
Where I used to work a road on the way used to flood, no way I could get the car through but the bike was happy. Just had to go slow and lift my feet right up so they didn't get wet. Damn deep, probably 1.5 - 2 foot!
Thinner tyres on bikes seem to handle standing water better than cars, but at speed, if it's pretty deep then it's inevitable you will lose traction.
