clutch slave

Post by darkstorm »

Morning ladies and gents

Having just completed a chain and sprocket change on me bike, feeling all good with myself, went to put the front cover back on and found that when trying to bolt it all back up, I managed to get the rear 2 bolts on, but when trying to bolt the slave in, it seems that its some how been popped out any solutions on getting ti back together? I relieved the pressure by removing the pipework from the slave, but to no avail .....:( advice needed please

Thanks

You need to push the piston back in :-)
It's in the hole in the cover .
And next time remove the clutch lever first .

Even a stolen one will still need pushing in, so that isn't a solution, my friend. Stick to bikes, give up that life of crime*.

Just use your fingers, if a bit stiff it probably needs cleaning but you could use a G clamp, with a bit of rag to stop it marking the caliper paint.
If very stiff you need to pump the piston fully out and replace the seal, after cleaning the cylinder face and bore thoroughly.
Only use clean fluid as a lubricant, not grease.

* Speeding and other minor offences are not considered crime in this context.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
