some feedback on my streetfighter. cmon, dont hold back!

Post by Demetri »

posted this on one of the other superchicken sites and was getting some intersting feedback.

lets just say they lifted the truck off it and it wasnt worth keeping the fairing. it sat in my garage a couple of years before i decided to do something with the pile of parts. always liked street fighters and i was getting kinda tired of the yellow Chiquita banana look so i powdercoated everything flat black!

the only mods are; 2Bros ex-highmount aluminum cans(i fabbed some shortys), a set of healthy michelins, some bar end mirrors, VFR800 clipons, stainless lines all around, new lights (a pair of Hellas are coming)

its still quite snowy here so i havent ridden her yet but she feels really light without all the bodywork and seat frame! just gotta get a gel pad for the seat. dont hold back, tell me what you think!

I'll be honest - I like the direction, but it looks too unfinished.
May be because most of the streets I see here is euro-fighters :) kind of bikes...
I more used to clean job with some internals hidden, a bit of "bulletproof" bolt-ons (like billet and CNC bulky pads and covers).
And I think that good headlights are essential (unlike many streetfighter builders think) - it is urban missile, so you must make yourself heard and seen. I have no doubt about being heard :) it's a VTR....but seen - with no decent headlight....not sure.
And I think seat unit a bit too harsh - or at least rear wheel calls for hugger, otherwise you will have half of the road on your back.
So - I think it looks a bit like ratbike/survivor bike style more than actually streetfighter style. IMHO.

i do appreciate it. youre right it's not done yet. there is a set of Hella driving lights on the way, i do want it to be street legal, well as much as possible :D the seat is still on a try-it-and-see basis and i will be getting a hugger because the police will be on my back as much as the road!

what did you mean by "a bit of "bulletproof" bolt-ons (like billet and CNC bulky pads and covers)." ?

Looks cool, I'll bet it will be one of them 'never finished' bikes -always adding/changeing stuff. Bet it wheelies like buggery too! I think it would look cool with a carbon hugger and a chrome tank. Hmmm you're given me ideas now :? Wheres the hacksaw........

Looks like it's on the way to being something nice but those exhausts look awful at that angle. Deff needs a seat unit.

Actually, there is a seat, just no pad (for the moment!) :biggrin
