Hi guys ,could do with ccts doing ,would really appreciate some experienced help,who sells these? and do they need new gaskets(honda dealer?).a carb balance would be cool if i could borrow adaptor off someone.do i need tools or are there enough hammers?(i,m a chippy 7 hammers in toolbox,top that!).It would be great to meet you all and kick some southern butt on the road!will bring lemon puffs,you may laugh now wait till you taste em. cheerz adyf

if you want to do the stopper mod I can provide some bar to cut to length, and silicon is fine in place of a new gasket. If you want to fit manual CCT's you need to get them bought now and bring them with you. for both solutions you need to check and see if the inspection caps on the generator cover will come undone.

Bring the bearings, springs and fork oil (7.5wt...so 1 bottle of 5 and 1 bottle of 10wt). I have the grinder and drifts and hammers.

Any particular bearings recommended to order, or straight swap with Honda ones?

dont bother with Honda bearings here, you want to upgrade to a taper roller set. I got mine from WEMOTO

and buy a set, as it includes the seals

progressive or linear springs? views guys??? I'll check out the workshop as well for past threads

Linear spring all the way for me ,
There easier to set up and give better feel when riding .
The progressive spring are to soft and then to hard . Mct suspension is a good place to get springs from :-)

yes the a423 :-) and there is sheep on the hills :-)

if we have 15 storms on race cans the sheep will be running for cover...........so we may have to do a bit of off roading to catch them

Given all the new members and the roaring sucsess of the GrainStorm event hosted by MacV2, I am happy to host a 2nd Midlands workshop day if there is enough interest.

1) who is interested, and what type of work are YOU [not me!] hoping to do on your bike.

2) Dates would be a Saturday between 2nd June to 11th Aug, please advise which ones work for the majority while I establish if I have any restrictions on those dates

3) location - Solihull area just south east of Birmingham airport.

Normal rules apply:
* You bring all the parts needed, and you are doing your own work, but specialist tools and coaching will be provided by resident experts [or me if Tony is not free ].
* Run it on a Saturday in case we need to get any spares part way through the day.
* Bacon butties and some kind of lunch [bbq if it is sunny], plus endless tea / coffee will be provided by host, but feel free to contribute your own biscuit selection.
* If I empty my bikes out of the garage, we might be OK to work on 3 under cover, the rest will be hoping for dry weather and working on the drive .
* Freeloaders and piss takers welcome
* Bit of a blast round local lanes to wrap up and try each others bikes.

we can do the usual Maunual CCT conversions [you have to bring your own], or Stopper mods , Valve Clearances [need Bennys shim kit], Carb balance [you need to buy a fitting for the front vac take off], Bearings [wheel or steering head or linkage], Clutch & Brake work etc etc.

I have ABBA stand and front & rear padock stand plus hammers, grinders, hammers, tap & die set, hammers, balance gauge, hammers, compression tester, hammers, multi meter, hammers, soldering iron, hammers, compressor, nut splitters, airdriver, clutch holding tools, a spare engine to rob bits off and a large selection of hammers and drifts

Its a few days before my payday and i know i already said i cant come, but if i can blag money for fuel and drink can i come down?

would really appreciate some help and guidance doing the valve shims as its not something I've done before

Do you have any to hand, i can pay for the ones used etc

Will bring me own tools down and strip the bike asap just want some help with gaping the shims etc

Seb, you can still come, I am expecting a few will drop out between now and then anyway, so nobody is turned away.

We have Benny's shim kit here, and we put your old ones back in and recycle, so no worrys on cost...well you will owe benny a drink

Seb - Storming and me did ours at Grain. All within tolerance and mine has done 32k so no shims required. Storming's old teal thing looked like it had been round the block a bit as well

So - some 8.5N linears on the way from K-Tech, very helpful bloke, totally skint now!

thats very odd .
when i got mine from them they were very helpful .
they do come highly recommend .
