Does this seem a bit long?

Post by scott02464 »

I ordered an RVF750 throttle tube (comes with grip) and a left hand side grip on the 16th June from Wemoto.

I'm still waiting for it.....

I emailed them early last week and the guy said 'they are still waiting for the right side to arrive and didn't know exactly when it would get to them'

Is this normal?

I'm waiting on some diaphragm springs from them, ordered on the 28th and still waiting. So I contacted them today and I got an email saying that they are waiting on the parts from their supplier in Holland and will take 7-10 days.
If it's parts they have in stock then their service is very good and I have had no problems with them in the past, but if it's something out of stock it takes longer. It's a shame they can not say when ordering whether something is in stock or not.

I know mate it's a little frustrating waiting. I just don't want them to forget about me lol!

I'm itching to do the oil and filters too, I've got all the stuff ready but want to wait for the grips so I can losen the throttle cables off while I'm at doing the air filter to save stripping it twice.

When you goto the checkout on their site it gives you a little traffic light next to each item saying if it's in stock or not... maybe it wasn't correct? :(

To be fair the item did say out of stock. However 3 weeks on Monday is a little excessive IMO...

Also the website does say in the terms section

"Non Stock Items

When an item is unavailable we will contact you with a realistic estimated time of delivery, and give you the option of cancellation and refund."

I've had no contact apart from when I've chased the items up and still none the wiser....

Well F me! The parts have turned up today and guess what!! Broken!

Took air box off, slackened cables, took off my throttle grip, took new one out of pack to compare (hardly no pissing difference to mine) to find the new RC45 tube is broken at the bit where you fit the cable to!

FUKCING FUMING!

Three weeks I've waited for the piece of sh1t to arrive!!

Now my bike is in bits it's just started chucking it down (after being the sunniest day in ages!) and I've dropped a screw down the back of my front carb!

I wish I hadn't have bothered!

Oh sh1t.... The screw will land on the butterfly flap as it is closed. I would suggest not opening the throttle or choke or anything. You really don't want the butterfly flap opening as the screw will drop inside the intake. :eek2
Slide the slide back on the top of carb with your finger and use a magnetic pick up tool or grab tool to retrieve it. Do not allow it to fall into the engine. :problem: Just keep calm and take you time. Then once you have retrieved the screw you can give Wemoto a bollocking.

{edit} Did I miss read your post. Did you mean the screw just dropped into the black hole down by the water bottle under the carbs. If so that's a relief as all you need to do is remove the carbs. 5min job if the tank and airbox is removed. [/edit]

Sorry for late text fella!

Yeah sorry I meant it had fallen down the gap at the front of the carbs and not into the carb lol, glad that didnt happen!

I managed (once the rain had stopped) to 'fish' the screw out with a long screwdriver in the end without having to take the carbs off thank god!

Felt really annoyed earlier, but even tho the new throttle tube is damaged/broken I've managed to fit it. So even tho there's not that much difference in amount of 'twist' compared to the standard at least I've got a fresh new set of grips if nothing else lol...
