Looks proper trick and sounds cool, but would it work on the storm?
Is this any use on a storm?

Re: Is this any use on a storm?
Reading some info on boost bottles mate and it sounds like they might work but you would have to tap it into the rubber intake connector between the carbs and the heads
also you would need two 500cc or greater size bottles for it to work correctly if you fed one boost bottle between each carb and they need to be mounted higher than the cylnder heads so not a lot of bloody room,
That said reading about them they are supposed to give a decent boost low down in the rev range
Interesting if it can work as it will give another ltr or so increase in the Intake Air Capacity so could be added to the Internal air box volume possibly?
i think I've got some spare intake rubbers so might give this ago if i can make it for free could use empty 500ml pop bottles and mount them above the radiators hidden in the faring or there about
If it can be done on the cheap its worth a try right?
I know these work with two strokes and are not meant for four strokes but i have a plan....
you take two bottles and four lines and some one way vlaves....
Run a bottle with two lines with one way valves fitted so one is fitted to allow air to go into the boost chamber and the other line cross it over to the other cylinders intake and run it so it flows the air into that one and vice versa so its criss crossing, would that work? then in therory it would be pushing air up one tubes cylinder and shoving it in the others intake when that is ready to fire, i think?
i will draw a picture soon.
This guy made his own , i know its not a twin or anything but just to give an idea of doing it on the cheap

Re: Is this any use on a storm?

I know its a crude drawing but that's as good as it gets from me lol
you can see my thinking i hopes, as one has possibly pushed air back if possible on a 4 stroke it can shove it into the other cylnder when it is firing as with the twin as one is at the top one is at the bottom so should create a continues equal flow
As its got one way valves fitted as well this should stop any negative effects either as well i think?
could it stop the air box cough as well?
i shall stop now and get some sleep, just an idea.

Even the two-stroke folk don't seem to rate them - why do you think they would work on a large capacity 4-stroke?

Looked at a lot of sites some do some don't yamaha fitted them as standard to a few bikes so they must be of some use?Wicky wrote:Even the two-stroke folk don't seem to rate them - why do you think they would work on a large capacity 4-stroke?

Re: Is this any use on a storm?

There was a factory Yamaha Energy Induction System YEIS (rx100) specifically for small capacity two-strokes, never on four-strokes. All a gimmick a bit like Honda inboard ventilated brakes

Slap in a mini cooper supercharger for some gains
