CBR 600RR Clocks

Post by VTRDark »

I was thinking about getting a set of CBR 1000rr clocks but they are selling for way to much money and I would need the wiring harness too. So have been been looking into alternatives that may aid in the search for a replacement. Someone on the hawk site has just fitted a CBR600rr set which I thought may be a good alternative and it seems it's possible to get the fuel level meter working as well. The 600 clocks are not cheap cheap, but if the fuel level works then that's an added bonus and I may get away with not having to buy the wiring harness.

Your thoughts please.

Pulled this from the superhawk site. http://www.superhawkforum.com/forums/mo ... lly-28650/
So I am pretty much finished with the 07cbr600rr dash swap. I learned a lot of stuff along the way.

I got it wired quickly. The dash plugs can be bought at Corsa Technic Corsa Technic Motorsporthttp://www.corsa-technic.com/category.p ... gory_id=54, Motorcycle Connectors for just a couple dollars.

Once wired the tach and speedo worked perfectly but I still needed a fuel gauge and temp. For the temp I just got the cbr unit from ronayers and it threaded right in. The 3 prong plug is available at eastern beaver or corsa.

The fuel sender was a whole other debacle. You cant use the stock 2nd gen sender because its ohm range is only like 91 but the cbr dash wants 110 for full use. I bought the cbr pump/ sender and butchered it beyond recognition.

Pics of my project are here. http://s1057.photobucket.com/albums/t39 ... %20sender/

First vid of dash here. SUPERHAWK TO CBR600RR DASH - YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HueEPWi0FE

It took a lot of time but I really like all the new features and since I kept stock plugs I can swap right back. But the digital speedo is nice and readable compared to the stocker. I really like the fuel gauge and digital temp too. Plus the clock is a 12 hr unlike others I've seen.

I really felt like a trailblazer as info on how to do this is limited and for some things there was no answer til I found one.

If anyone tried the swap with this info it would save you like 30-40 hrs of work over what it took me to feel my way in the dark.

You should be able to change a board component to give a better tacho display.
All you need is for the redline to be in the right place; the actual number is irrelevant.
Anyway, it'll be fun at the bike meet showing how yours is set up to rev to 14,000.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
