sp1 to sp2 ?

Post by lumpyv »

my understanding is that an sp2 is an sp1 with the problems ironed out? ?

if you buy an sp1 what do you have to do to bring it up to to sp2 standard??

just wondered.

Have a read through here http://www.rc51forums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1157 The main thing was the injectors but Lloydie has pretty much hit the nail on the head.

lazy but to the point
if you want a sp1 get one but it will never be an sp2 no matter how much money and mods you throw at it .
start with what you want and make it your own ......

He's right, though.
Buy an SP2, even if it's cosmetically challenged, and then tidy it. You'll find it's cheaper than trying to adapt and adopt bits form one to another.

Same goes for fitting an SP1 engine into a Storm. Sure, it can be done, but it's so much easier to just sell the Storm and buy an Sp1- and it'll be lots cheaper than doing all the necessary enmgine and chassis mods. Less fun though
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
