sorry!tyres again!

hi
i'm currently running MICHELIN MACADAMs on my 98 storm.
i rarely ride in damp conditions and i know it aint summer yet so tyres aint gonna get warm but i find the grip on the rear terrible
its caught me out a few times by blipping,lucky i relaxed when it happened and i got control back.
i admitt i am a fairly new rider and aint too confident on corners but the tyres on my old rf600 (dunlop sportmax) gave me more confidance

can anyone recomend a pair of decent replacements for my storm (not full on sport)that will grip on the road better and not feel like me back ends gonna slide when i go round corners?

Hi Paddy,
I have been using Bridgestone 020's for the last two years with no probs.
I find that they wear in the raitio of 1 front to 2 backs.

I can recommend Pirelli Diablo's - sticky from the start. (after scrubbed in

) Supposed to last as well. Some good reviews on the Pirelli Diablo Strada (Touring tyre) as well.

BT-020's probaly give the same grip on the road as the Diablo's and should also be a great option.
Avon ST 45/46's give great longevity and excellent grip too. Great tyre, but I don't like the look of the tread, but that's personal.

Most modern Sports Tourer tyres will fit the bill by the sounds of it!

Pilot Sports look the part too but are still very pricy (plus the Diablo's are better!)

Had pilot sports on, couldn't wait to get shut, pile o slippy shite even in the dry

got luverly 010 on the front 020 on the back and there great even in the slime of winter

012 front and rear, They were great but I squared off the rear comuting and teaching.

Now I am running 012 front and 020 rear. I have not noticed and lack of grip at the rear since I put the 020 on. (new 012 on front as well)

I even did a track day at Brands with the oridgional 012 front and new 020 rear. No prob at all.

I need pair of treads, so I have been reading all the tyre threads for the last 2 hours when I should have been working.......

Seems Bridgstones are well rated on this forum, I have shopped around and can get 010's fitted to loose wheels for Â£155, which seems OK. What I want to know is whats the difference between 010's 011's 020's etc.....quite confused about that. I looked on the Bridgstone website but it just spouts the marketing crap.

My alternative is to get some Hi-SPorts from eBay for 125, but then will have to get them fitted.....

I've just put 010's front and rear on mine, they're so much better than the previous Dunlops I had on.

I paid a fair bit more than Â£155 though, sounds a great deal to me.

(We really could do with a tyre section on this forum)

i got a great deal on 2 020s
180 fitted and its like riding a new bike

its so flickable now,i can actually go round corners now
