50k and still going!

Post by Ianh »

Just a random message realy, my storm is just shy of 50k and shes been through all that the UK can chuck at her, or him.

Snow, rain and more rain, I have gone through a whole bunch of tyres and chains but would you belive thats all!

I still have the same shocks, although I believe I would realy notice the difference if I was to change it! but apart from that it's been an absolute bloody joy!!!

The only problem I have had is that it doesnt like certain petrol stations???
when I fill the bike up, sometimes it seems like its running out of juice and it will brake down for around an hour then all will be ok again??!! 8O

anyhow, I now looking forward to the next 50k!

Cheers all

ps -
I did tell you it was random :D

Wow Ian
That's your first post in nearly a year 8O That's pretty random too
Glad to hear the old girl is still going at fifty K Whats the secret of your success. Has is all been chains and tyres along the way or have you had to throw in a few cam chains as well? Most of us have a few less miles on the clock (only 30k at the mo) what have we got in store for the the future?

well I'm at about 24,000 but seduced by the BMW GS 1200, had to promise new drive to be laid and new window frames so its going to be bloody expensive. (Thank God for credit) BUT THE STORM STAYS.
it may be clever, but its not big.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAZ!

Petrol quality is incredibly haphazard. The best way is to only fill up with ultimate or supreme. Both seem a whole lot more stable.

Just my opinion.

My cousin used to have a fuel problem if he filled the bike whilst sat on it to keep it vertical and get as much in as possible. he would ride up the road and it would run real ruff. if we opened the tank it was like breaking a vacuum like the over full tank was blocking a vent. If he filled it on the stand then it ran fine.

That Vacuum lock was a common problem on Storms, most of the early mags recommended you never fill them past the little bar you can see when you open the filler cap.
I say fill it to the brim and sort it only if it happens
