Re the Velcro.... Have a look at them, one part probably the slider will have bristles, these hook into the other side which will be loops the more furry side. It's normally the fury side that gives up as the loops break down.cybercarl wrote:I got some sliders but the velcro doesen't seem to work on them. Can't get them to stick to my leathers. I'm not sure if it's the sliders or the velcro on my leathers that are at fault.I may just glue them or stitch them on.
Get something else with Velcro on it, a glove for example & test it.
I would of thought that it will be the patch on your leathers that is the suspect side, try brushing it with a stiff brush to bring the pile back up. If it's no good it will need replacing.
IMO gluing or stitching isn't a great idea as......what glue to use...evo stick type impact adhesive probably best option as it's flexible but I doubt it would be strong enough. Re stitching...your going to have to find some bloody strong thread! Either option what about taking them off if they do stay on?
Failing that & with no funds to have a new patch of Velcro put on....try gaffa tape , it will look shite but it will hold them & is easily replaced, cheap & comes in lots of different colours!

Thanks Mac, You may be on to something there. I have a feeling the velcro on the leathers has got wear and tear or been squashed from kneeling on them.I would of thought that it will be the patch on your leathers that is the suspect side, try brushing it with a stiff brush to bring the pile back up. If it's no good it will need replacing.
I bought them second hand and since I have had them, I have knelt on them a lot working on the bike etc.
I may have to look into getting some new velcro on the leathers. But will try a stiff brush first or a light brush with wire brush.
