Missing my bike...

...because for the last two weeks I've been in Chicago, for work. It's very similar to central london in terms of the quantity of traffic and people (perhaps not quite as many people as in London) yet most of the bikers there ride around helmet-less. Wellying it across major traffic junctions seems to be the done thing, just where you're most likely to get wiped out. It was also strange seeing riders on the freeway with no helmets, not just the cruiser guys, but one night we saw a dozen sportsbike riders (some with girls on the back) hoofing it onto the freeway doing three figure speeds with no lids. You'd be deaf after a mile!

Oh well, had a great time but it will be good to get back to the family and hopefully some good weather looking at the news reports. It's been hard work putting up with 37deg C most days

Pity you couldn't have taken your bike with you. Or hired one over there even!

It's probably the same but in Chicago they are either more spread out across a larger area coverage, or on Methamphetamine aka Crystel Meth and hiding indoors.

Yes, it seems that an awful lot of Americans are spread out across a larger area.
I blame McDonalds supersizing offers, myself.
