Fairing Indicators - help

Post by tasum »

Can anyone recommend some fairing indicators to fit in the fairing hole?

I've replaced my originals with the smaller type, but neither hole has the grommet and I'm thinking it will look neater if I can get some of those oval, amber indicators to fit in the hole. :D

If anyone can point me in the right direction as there are so many on evilbay.

I got ones very similar to these ones

Cat Eye Indicators

I can't find the exact ones I got but they were only a tenner.

You can also get this type which have a higher profile and so can be seen from directly in front:

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

thanks for the help. i like those jazzscot, i'll have a think about the lens colour.

thanks tony, I had those on when it came to me so I'm looking for something different, but thanks for the heads up and for pointing out that they do have the advantage of being seen from the front, worth considering again

thanks :D

I was looking at a set of spacers to mount hte mini standard indicators, but looking at them I'm not sure they'll work as the fairing just has a hole and then somewhere to mount the indicator on the inside shell of the fairing.

Thinking the flush or the cats eye type might solve the problem. thanks for the links :D

Cat eye ones work a treat and cover the hole nicely. They just clamp against the fairing using a big plastic nut on the rear which squeezes it in place.

neither hole has the grommet
Do you mean the large oval shaped ones that fit in the fairing hole or the inner ones. I would not worry about the inner ones but the larger outside ones would be good to have. You could fit cat eyes without them, but they do make them look better and also give them more support and take some vibration out.

As an alternative you could run some Black silicone around the edge, let it dry first, then fit the indi's

Don't forget if you go down the LED route you will need some inline resisters.

I gone for these, not super high quality, but they do the job.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0747245032

Took the inside off the fairing to make them easy to fit. Ok for under a tenner for the pair.

They cover the hole and have quite long cables, so an easy fit.
