Times are changing
Re: Times are changing
Suppose they serve a purpose. At least you wouldn't have to queue behind the bloody things at the pumps. Good if you are purely after cheap commuting transport so each to their own.

Re: Times are changing
nt$100 gets you 260km???
that = £2.11 and 161.5 miles
the electric bikes.... broke the 100mph lap at iom last year though theyre not very reliable yet.
still managing 75 - 100kw output which is quite powerful tbh

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: Times are changing
There have been a few races shown on itv4
Load of baldrocks
Just record and watch bsb, wsb or moto with the sound off!!
No sound of screaming engines

Re: Times are changing
I would find it very hard to change to a non IC engined bike, a different story if I didn't know any different. I was feeling bad enough when I saw and heard a diesel Royal Enfield pull away from my local bike garage today. I imagine the Royal Enfield to be excellent on mpg figures, but while I can afford petrol and it's still available I will stick with what I've got.

I just wonder where all the electricity is to come from? We didn't replace our nuclear capacity soon enough and we may have insufficient for day to day use in the future, let alone with electric vehicles. It's the range and costs that are unrealistic at the moment.sirch345 wrote:I would find it very hard to change to a non IC engined bike, a different story if I didn't know any different. It will come from solar energy that's why they're sticking on the house roof .
Pretty soon everyone will have them just like Dubble glazing .

Excepting the fact that renewables cannot possibly generate enough. It's like the tokenism of windfarms.lloydiecbr wrote:It will come from solar energy that's why they're sticking on the house roof .

Re: Times are changing
every little helps
those scooters though are hydrogen fuel cell powered, to my knowledge that's like an internal combustion engine that burns hydrogen. The only issue being how much it costs to generate the right hydrogen. Still - if the sun can burn it, so can a bike one day.

Re: Times are changing
It runs on the same stuff the car on Back to the Future ran on. So maybe we could use it to get back to petrol engined storms.
I think they will have to make some sort of exhaust noise, or some noise of some sort for a safety thing. Pedestrians and other road users need to be aware of their presence.

That is a very good point Paul, and with solar panels being placed on farms by the acre, we're loosing valuable arable land which will be needed for growing food in the future.Stratman wrote: I just wonder where all the electricity is to come from? IMHO until cars etc can produce enough electricity so they can recharge their own batteries as they go it's a bit pointless in buying one to go green. OK it's stopped the pollution from the vehicle's engine that normally burns petrol or diesel, but to me they've only moved it to the plants generating the electricity.
