What top yoke?

Post by nutter_on_the_bus »

I am going to be doing a flat bar conversion. I see three options for mounting the bars
1 Drilling the existing yoke and adding risers.

2 Finding another Honda yoke and using that

3 Buying a new yoke from CNC, LSL, ABM or the like.

1 is quick and dirty but may weaken the yoke.

2 other than CB400 Super 4 it appears the Deauville NTV 650.700 yoke fits. Can anyone confirm this other than this ebay link and a reference on the Superhawk forum
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-HONDA-VT ... 0559723589

3 is just expensive (for now)

I have run a few searches within this and the Superhawk forms and most seems to be options 1 or 2.
Really I am just looking for advice or experiences

I was considering getting a 2nd Firestorm yoke and modding it like the ABM one so it can fit ontop of the standard one.

machine off the ignition key mount, bore out the hole above the steering stem nut, drill and fit the clamps for flat bars then when fitted it will clamp onto the fork legs and help lift the bars above the fork tops.

then you can always go back to clipons with little extra work
