Gilles Adjustable Rearsets

yes, have a look at AMCQ46 storm in the Pimp my ride section.

They are a nice bit of kit and have 3 main advantages for me:
1) adjustable so I can move them down and back for more room with my long legs and big feet [but would also work if you had short legs and small feet]
2) precision of the bearings mean no slack in the gear lever so nicer gear changes
3) pegs are narrower across the bike so although I run them lower there is more ground clearance and they are nice and grippy wet or dry and you feel well connected to the bike when you are throwing it side to side.

down sides are:
1) cost - Luckly I got mine 2nd hand, but still not cheap
2) increased vibration through the pegs as there is no rubber layer to isolate
3) the domed cap head screws that allow the position adjustment are a bit easy to chew up the head as it is a small allan key size for a big thread. I have swapped 2 of mine for normal allan head bolts.

I've got them fitted to mine. I think they are a waste of money
Use loads of grease when fitting to!

.....am i correct in thinking that from the peg position you are using there is one more rear mount and two higher mounting positions available ?

yes there is 2 more positions above where i have mine, and 1 more further rearwards [but not in the full lowest position!] That is as far back as they will go in the lowest position, but if I go up 10mm, I can go back by and extra 10mm. the lower rear edge has the corner chamfered off so there is no material to accomadate the lowest rear screw.

Also note that the top picture is with the bike on the side stand, and the lower one it is on the paddock stand, so the relative position of the swing arm is effected by that.

Now you have posted the before and after pictures I would have to say the pegs look higher than standard, even in the lowest position.
The Gilles website claims that the std position is one forward and one up from where mine are, but those photos say you can never get as low as std.

Rather than being upset, I kind of agree!

I would have rather not had Gold, Silver or Black would have been better, and the shapes arnt very flowing............but the engineering is good and the function is good, so that over rides asthetics in my world.

So its a bit like the BMW1000R.... Fkin fugly but does exactly what it says on the tin. I get ya!
