How much turn?

Post by scott02464 »

Just out of interest how much twist does a standard throttle tube have?

I put a HRC quick action tube on mine which has 1/6th of a turn.

The standard one is 2/3 but can be made into a 1/4 buy removing the return cable . Like I did :-) and its good for me 1/6 would be mental one little bump in the road and up pops the front wheel :-) .

It's not too bad tbh mate, i can tell there's deffo a difference but not enough to make any poo come out tho!

It's used up all my slack in the cable and managed to keep the return cable on!

How do you do that Lloydie? Would like a quicker action but not 1/6th....

Standard you need to be double jointed to whack it right open. Strange, my right wrist has certainly had plenty of exercise

Just remove the return cable and put it in the bin as its not needed .
Then adjust the pull cable as their will be lots of slack in it after removing the return cable .
The carb spring is huge and strong it will snap shut very fast .
Removing the return cable also makes the throttle lighter to use .
And also makes it easier to remove and refit the carbs .
If you don't like it have a dig in the bin and refit the return cable .

Iv been out on it this afternoon and the throttle tube works bloody brilliant!

The full range of power is accessed so easily on the back roads but its not too much in traffic what so ever.

It's proberly one of my top 3 best mods Iv done!
