I won the vtr1000 britain

Picking it up on Thursday. Quite chuffed for the price :D was pretty much my max. I'd have thought I could get more than £835 back from selling the parts? Need to give that damaged right had side rearset a good inspecting though.

Which of you guys tried to outbid me with 10s to go?

I intend on keeping it as a track bike, it'd more more effort than what it's worth to put it on the road. I've got a couple of track days coming up booked, should be just the ticket.

Nice one Steve, well done  Definitely better not to use your road bike for track days if possible. No it wasn't me bidding against you,

Chris.

I'm pleased that it's been bought by a forum member. Keep us updated to how the work/repairs and stuff go with it. If the worst comes to the worst with the pegs, you could always have a bracket made up to attach some harris or similar rearsets.

If your keeping it as a track bike it may be an interesting project to get the ramair up and running. Have a look at Yeti's pics here http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 41#p148377 I'm sure you could enclose the carbs in a box. Use some mesh and fiberglass (P40). You could possibly even make the ramair tubes out of fiberglass as well. Get some more precise measurements from Yeti and some better pics. It is possible, I would love to do something like that. The hard bit is done for you, the tank.

Nice one Steve.

Get the rearsets sorted and painting the wheels will be first I think

Good choice, it should handle well for track days.
