sad news. do you have any legal expense cover on your contents insurance? it may help if you need any legal assistance. i have seen ebay adverts regarding stolen bikes, people advertising the fact their bike's been stolen. might be worth a spin.

hope the cctv helps and that they are recovered for you.

Surly even if you've just moved and not changed your house address round on the insurance details your still covered??

That's like saying you've been riding with no insurance for however long...

You've payed to have it covered for theft regardless of where you live...?

Belive it or not a mate is in the process of going to court for no insurance as he hadn't told his insurer he had changed a dress even tho he was still paying direct debit for it, can't remember how it came about but because his address on the insurance is no longer his registered address the insurance was void

Bloody hell thats gutting news, hope you manage to get them back. Bike thieves should have their phuking hands chopped off, the stumps dipped in broken glass and then hot tar poured over them

edit - if your on facebook there a group for stolen bikes - motorcycle stolen it's called, always another avenue to get folk looking out for them

Had a call from Greater Manchester Police earlier.

They have recovered the track bike and have 6 people in custody :) :) :). It was found very close by apparently, I haven't got the full details yet. Absolute retards, they cant take them more then a few hundred meters from where they were stolen! I forget that somebody who goes in to this line of work is'nt going to be particularly bright.

They are interviewing them tonight and then going to call me. I suggested that they have their thieving hands chopped off instead! Fingers crossed they can locate the road bike.

The Police get a lot of stick, but they have been extremely helpful with me today  They arrived 10 minutes after me reporting them stolen and I have had numerous calls from them through the day.

Thanks for all the comments

That's looking promising mate for getting the road bike back!

Was there much damage to the track bike?

That sounds very promising  I expect it's the same bunch that stole the other one as well, so if they have them in custody, the next stage is interrogation and searching their properties for lock up/garage keys and stuff.

Nice to hear the Police doing something positive for a change.
