on the 954 swing arm it dont look like you have room for the shock and rear exhaust header .
get the tape measure out seb as that would be the first thing i would look at

As Tweety on SH forum has already said* - you'll need to move some vital mounting points about and you'd need to craft a shock linkage by calculation or trial & error. Plus if you did mange to fit, it'll give you longer wheelbase which'll alter handling characteristics.

If it was me doing this I would feel more confident with the Gaggenau version and having a new linkage made rather then rely on welds at the base of suspension as in tweetys. There's just something about having welds there, and knowing the stresses and strains the suspension goes through. It would play on my mind. Unless off course it was done professionally and like Tweety's, X-rayed for any flaws in the weld.

You need to really think about thing's here. Altering the suspension in this way is not to be taken lightly. Could you whip your rear wheel off, line the swingarm with the shock to see more clearly how it lines up. On the Storm the shock is to one side slightly to allow for the exhaust. Is it more central on the blade? I'm thinking the linkage could be made slightly offset.

It would probably be better if you had frame ears to take some of the strain off the engine. Then there would not be so much stress on the linkage mechanism.

How about using the Blade shock and linkage?
Then all you'd need to do is get the exhaust to fit round it.

And a longer chain, of course.

But I have to say, your choice of research material is less than perfect.
MCN for the classifieds, yes, but I personally prefer The Aquarist and Pondkeeper magazine for Storm parts.
Sadly for you, however, I've already been through the classifieds in their on-line section and have snapped up the Titanium Plectostomus breeding pair as an investment.
I'll sell them to Lloydie at a profit in a week or two, when he's forgotten how much they cost.

Or I could dye them with Methylene Blue and sell them to anyone daft enough.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Seb if you want to avoid the agg of fitting the 954 arm but want the looks, why not get alloy panels welded to the braced firestorm arm? You would get a similar profile but would have all the linkages in the correct places and with fewer clearance issues. It obviously won't be light but the aesthetics should be similar.
Just a thought.

or if you want better handling - spend your spondoolies on a decent aftermarket shock or sumfink
