Ducati 750ss First time project
Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
After a bit of a lay off, and working on the Firestorm, I have started on the monster wiring loom
Now know which bits connect where so the next bit will be to cannibalise the 750ss loom for the connectors
Converting the front to twin disc set up, more for the looks than performance
Got a pair of discs from an ST2 and a caliper from a Cagiva River plus a reservoir from a 900ss
Headlamp is painted black and I have made a bracket from tubing to match the frame
Have shaved down the original seat foam to form a new one to fit the tail unit
A new tail unit has been built, slightly thinner to sit on top of the frame rather than hang over it
I have found a light for it
Monster clocks fitted to temporary bracket
Tried a bit of wrap on the tank

Flatline, like what your doing there
Have a look at this advert, I saw the bike in the shop when I was getting new waterproof jacket and it looks great. They took a std 900ss and Did the cafe racer mods themselves, looked very sweet in the flesh.

Nice looking Duke, nice contrast between the frame & tinware. Sure Flatty's will be as good when it's done.

Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
You're right there mate. Hellishly expensive though.

Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
I reckon you are on the money with regards to wire wheels
Will have to keep a look out for a set of Supermoto wheels
First thing is to get the bike finished and on the road
Then I can start to tweek it

I've seen a few sets pop up on Gumtree recently. If you're not watching it you may be wise to scan it occasionally.

Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
That would be good Kev
However, I will need the money to get the thing on the road
After that, I can start to look around
So unless some come up stupidly cheap, it wil have to wait

Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
Fair enough mate, got to work to your budget. What sizes would you need for the Duke?

Re: Ducati 750ss First time project
3.50 x 17 front and 4.50 x17 rear
We then have to consider the different axle sizes and fittings etc, how they work with the Duc
Not put any time in getting information
At the moment I have to build the rear "box", under the seat hump to house the electrics
And how the seat is to be fixed to the bike to allow access
All in all it will be an interesting time
Hope to get your input
