So sorry to hear that mate. How much of a job would it be to put the race bike back on the road? Have you contacted the victims of crime compensation people (that's not what they're called but it escapes me at the moment) as there is a suspect. What's the motor vehicle insurance board criteria for uninsured loss?

I once caught two guys trying pinch my t80 a few weeks after I got it needless to say they couldn't try to do it again as I gave them a good seeing to :-)

sh1t news.. im sorry. there used to be something called the motor insurers beaurau ( never can spell that word) who were something to do with losses from un-insured drivers? dont know if they could help/advise?

The only way to prevent it happening is to move into a area way from the twats! I know this sounds snobby:-( but I was in exactly the same boat when I lived at home in Sheffield!

I literally had my cars and bikes nicked ever other Saturday with no signs of the pigs catching the flowers!

I even reinforced my gate with a stainless steal frame i made at work thinking it will make me bike safe.... Did it wombles, they just pulled part of me dads wall down and carried the bike over the rubble!! :-(

You can't have nowt these days without some little scrubber trying to ruin it!

If they can't nick it they'll just damage it out of spite!

MIB is for cases involving accidents involving uninsured drivers not for cases of theft- From the MIB and police perspective Steve's only recourse is his own insurance or sadly lack off.

Criminal compensation for victims of violent crime is for trauma/ injuries .

Is the race bike to road an option? Even if you need donations of bits to get ti together.

I have reported the theft to the insurance company and I told a white lie that I was just staying over at a friends flat. They seemed to accept this. I have not gone all the way in claiming yet as I have a £550 excess and only valued the bike at £1200. I don't know anything about NCB, but would I lose all 5 years of my NCB for £650? If so I don't think it is worth it. Lesson learnt about skimping on insurance and giving myself a massive excess

My family are kindly lending me 2k this weekend so I can search for another storm. Providing the race bike is not damaged (I'm looking at in Wednesday) I'll get it stripped and parts sold off asap to repay them. A bit of pain, but I should get back on the road again shortly.

Salford Quays really is not a rough area, it just backs on to a sh1t area like most nice parts of Manchester. The local Police officer is coming over to speak with me one evening about security, I can only make some suggestions. The first being, replace the dummy CCTV cameras with real ones !!! . Though some of them are real ones and the footage is being looked over

I'll get scouting ebay, etc tonight unless anybody has got any bikes to suggest

I feel for you mate, mine was stolen last December.

Fortunately i got mine back after a week or so but it'd been damaged, scorpion cans dented, fabbri screen smashed, hradlight surround gouged and both levers twisted.

Wonder if its the same flowers ?, i caught them on cctv and they were late teens too.

Gmp was very helpful with me too but the recovery fee was steep £120.

I never claimed for the damage as i too have a 500 quid excess, wasn't worth wiping out my no claims for it.

I have a clean one, not as good as the ebay one though, manual cct's, beowulf pipes, 27k, hot grips, carbon hugger, mot till march tax till october, needs carbs balancing and new head bearings, it has new rectifier, new pads in front, cant think of any nasties at all, oh left hand fairing there is a crack at the mounting point but that hasnt got worse in 3 years, AMCQ and Tony have ridden it, looking for £1400.
